    Total cell lysates collected from Jurkat cells (a cell line derived from a lymphoma human T cell) were treated with anti-Fas and Actinomyocin D (the control treatment included lysates that did not undergo the two mentioned treatments) and lysed in CHAPS Cell extract buffer (B0001). The treatments activate the apoptotic cascade triggered by caspase-3 and this induces proteolytic cleavage of a number of proteins, such as caspases, that are involved in apoptosis. The treated Jurkat lysates are used as a molecular weight control when performing western blots on different proteins involved with apoptosis.
